Turning head approved at Mayo road junction to facilitate wind farm

Planning permission has been granted by Mayo County Council for the development of a temporary turning head on the R312 and R317 junction at Beltra, Glenisland, Castlebar.

The five-year permission was sought by ABO Wind Ireland Limited to facilitate the delivery of turbine components to Sheskin Wind Farm nearby.

Locally sourced gravel will be used to widen the junction so delivery vehicles can perform a turning manoeuvre.

The site will be reinstated shortly after the turbine components have been delivered.
