Macalla set to brew up a storm at top Mayo venue

One of the latest music groups to come out of Mayo, Macalla, will be showcasing their own excellent, eclectic musical style when they stage a concert in Westport Town Hall on Saturday, September 17.

The brainchild of multi-award winning impresario Kathy Fahey, Macalla will perform some of the most memorable and iconic songs to come out of Ireland.

From The Stunning to Stockton’s Wing, and everything in between, the night promises to deliver wonderful performances from group members Emma-Jane McHale, Ollie Kennedy and newest member, Brendan Duignan.

Musical Director and producer, Kathy Fahey explained: “Macalla will bring a healthy helping of nostalgia to Westport Town Hall, performing songs across the Irish musical spectrum, enthusing audience members of all ages.

"Toe-tapping and hand clapping will certainly be part of the night with music from acts as diverse as U2, The Pogues, The Dubliners and Sinéad O’Connor.”

Having already performed in Claremorris Town Hall to great success, there was so much enthusiasm among the audience and anticipation for the forthcoming concert.

Accompanied on the night by the outstanding Electric Twist Orchestra, Macalla’s Westport debut is not to be missed.
