Warm tributes to much-loved Mayo nurse on her passing

The death has taken place of Maureen Carroll (née Garvey) Garryduff Park, Castlebar, and formerly of Kilhale, Glenisland.

She died peacefully at the Mayo Hospice surrounded by her family.

Predeceased by her father John and mother Mary/Molly (née McNally), she is deeply regretted by her husband Stephen, son Seamus, daughter-in-law Aine, granddaughter Grace Anne, brothers Willie and John, sisters Aggie, Kathleen and Ann.

She is also survived by many loving and devoted nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and the extended Garvey, Davitt, Chambers, Grimes, Carroll and Sharkey families.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved on their loss.

Many lovely tributes have been paid to the deceased on the condolences pages of the death notices, website, RIP.ie.

A retired member of the nursing staff of the former St. Mary's Hospital, Castlebar, Maureen was described as a kind and lovely lady who was always dedicated to her patients.

One tribute stated: "You have a heart of gold, we will miss you."

"A lovely, warm, caring lady," another said.

A tribute by a former work colleague remembered: "She was a mother figure to us all."

Remains reposing at Coady’s Funeral Home this evening (Sunday) from 6.30 p.m. with removal at 8 p.m. to the Church of The Holy Rosary, Castlebar.

Requiem Mass takes place on Monday at 11.30 a.m. with interment afterwards in the New Cemetery.
