Designer of Castlebar and Mayo crests to be remembered

The Mayo Emigrants Liaison Committee is to make a special presentation to the Egan family, Mountain View, Castlebar, later this month.

It is in recognition of the late Michael J. Egan, who designed both the Castlebar and Mayo coat of arms.

His daughter, Eanya, and family members will attend the presentation ceremony on a date to be confirmed.

A member of the committee, Kevin Bourke, said the crests have served the town and county extremely well over the years and it is only fitting that the late Mr. Egan is recognised for the time and effort he invested in the designs.
