ARISE WEST launches What’s Your Impact social enterprises campaign

IN partnership with Mayo South West Development Company, Roscommon LEADER Partnership has launched ARISE WEST, a new initiative that will promote the work of social enterprises in Roscommon, Galway and Mayo.

ARISE WEST is a programme to support social enterprise in the west of Ireland and will communicate to the general public about what social enterprises are, how they make a difference and the impact they have on local communities. Working with a range of partners, ARISE WEST will profile and highlight the innovative work of social enterprises within the west.

At its launch at Knock airport today, ARISE WEST unveiled the new What’s Your Impact? campaign which will reframe peoples thinking around social enterprise. The campaign focuses the minds of those in the Roscommon, Mayo and Galway regions on what their impact is on their communities, on their county, on their region and on society as a whole and asks the question: What’s Your Impact?

Also speaking at the event, Sabina Trench, CEO of Mayo South West Development Company, said: “We’re delighted to be part of this collaborative project in the west of Ireland promoting and telling the stories of successful social enterprises across our region. The range and depth of the social enterprise offering in our area is extensive and I think that a significant part of the ARISE story will be showcasing what is unique about social enterprises in the West of Ireland.”

As part of their work to support social enterprises, ARISE WEST will be developing an official ARISE WEST digital magazine, a six-part event series, infographics, a video interview series and bi-monthly blogs that showcase the diversity of social enterprises in the west of Ireland. By focusing on the positive effects of social enterprise and showcasing specific case studies and local communities in each, ARISE WEST will act as a cohesive voice that celebrates the unique landscape of the West of Ireland.

The west of Ireland is made up of a diverse range of social enterprises not found anywhere else in the country. Based around inclusion, sustainability and community, social enterprises ensure that communities from Roscommon, Mayo, Galway and the surrounding islands continue to thrive and maintain the landscape and culture that the West of Ireland is so beloved for.

From Castlebar to Clifden, and from Roscommon town to Rossaveal, ARISE WEST will be working with social enterprises based across the region to ensure they receive the support they need.
