The death has taken place peacefully at Mayo University Hospital of Tommy Robinson, Westport Road and Spencer Street, Castlebar.

A native of Ballina, the deceased was widely known and respected in Mayo business circles, particularly the motor trade.

He was proprietor of Tommy Robinson Limited, the well-known garage, car sales and petrol station at Spencer Street which is now run by his son, Michael.

Tommy was also actively involved in the local community for many years, both as an officer of the Order of Malta and a leading figure in the Castlebar International Four Days Walks.

He had an immense passion for walking and greatly enjoyed his regular walks with his friends at home and occasionally abroad.
