UPMC and UCD partner to host concussion in sport conference
UPMC and UCD will host a concussion conference on Saturday (September 24) entitled Concussion in Sport – A National Conversation.
Throughout the event, the conference will hear from leading physicians on advances in treating concussions, clinical profiles, pitch-side assessments and latest research updates.
The conference will be addressed by: Dr. Michael 'Micky' Collins, clinical director, UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program; Dr. Rod McLoughlin, medical director, IRFU; Dr. Adrian McGoldrick, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Body; Dr. Anthony Kontos, research director, UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program; Dr. Enda Devitt, Galway GAA, Connacht Rugby and UPMC Concussion Network physician; and Mairead Liston, medical manager, high performance game, IRFU.
Clare hurler Shane O’Donnell will also be interviewed during the conference to discuss his experience with concussion.
