Eight Mayo food producers savour success at Irish Food Awards

Eight Mayo business enjoyed success at the annual Blas na hÉireann finals, the Irish food awards.

The bronze, silver and gold winners from the county were Cácaí Acla, Cake my Day, Jack & Eddie's, Krem Delights Limited, Moylurg Honey, Western Brand Chicken, Wildwood Balsamics and O'Haras Bakery, who were also awarded Best in County and Best in Connaught.

Finalists and winners showcased their produce in a new tented market — each tent highlighting a province in Ireland — also a new addition to the festival.

Now in their 15th year, Blas na hÉireann saw a huge increase in entries with almost 3,000 products and many new producers entering the awards for the first time.
