Déjà Vu Ireland West tour runs through in Westport

THE Déjà Vu Ireland West tour was in Westport last weekend.

Based at the Knockranny House Hotel last Saturday morning, October 1, they were supporting the Mayo/Roscommon Hospice as their 130-mile route took in some of the classic Circuit of Ireland and Galway International Rally stages.

With big names like champion rally driver and one of the most famous drivers in the world, Rosemary Smith; 007 stunt driver and three times British Rally Champion, Mark Higgins; and 2020 Galway International Rally winner and winner of the 2022 Easter Stages, Alastair Fisher.

There was lots of excitement despite all the rain as the rally left Westport in the morning and headed over the mountains on an old circuit stage before descending to the shores of Lough Mask then on to Lough Nafooey, another circuit and Galway Rally classic rally stage.

After lunch, they stopped at the most southerly part of the route at Roundstone Harbour, before passing Kylemore Abbey enroute to Killary Harbour and Leenane before finally returning back through the mountains again to Westport Quay.
