A mighty Castlebar story told at Mayo's Wild Atlantic Words Festival

John Healy, co-author of the newly-launched book 'The History of Castlebar', told an exceptional good local story about the town and its people during the Wild Atlantic Words Festival staged in the town.

And, most importantly, he told it exceptionally well.

As he said himself, it will particularly appeal to Castlebar people - at home and abroad - who grew up in the town during the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s and loved Stephen Garvey's annual operas staged in the Town Hall.

It was captured on video for posterity by his good friend, John McEllin, Balla.

There is a small bit of interference at different stages of the footage - but that's because of the storm conditions outside the festival dome on the night.

Enjoy.
