Official opening of new Mayo bridge

THE official opening of the new Cloongullane bridge on the N26 between Swinford and Foxford takes place this Thursday.

Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Hildegarde Naughton, will be on hand to perform the official opening.

A special publication, Cloongullane Bridge: Past and Present will also be launched.

The bridge, which crosses the Moy, involved the realignment of 1.8 kms of the N26 national primary road, removing the notorious traffic bottleneck that occurred at the old bridge.
