South Mayo church to host investiture ceremony

The ‘Western Mass’ of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem - Lieutenancy of Ireland will take place tomorrow at 11.30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, The Neale.

Holy Mass will be was concelebrated by Most Reverend Francis Duffy, Archbishop of Tuam, Most Reverend Michael Neary, D.D. KC*HS, Archbishop Emeritus of Tuam and Very Rev. Francis Mitchell, JCL KCHS, be the Homolist.

In attendance will be Lieutenant Peter Durnin, GCHS; members of Council and a large number of Knights and Dames of the Order, who have travelled from all over the island.

Prior to the celebration and offering of Holy Mass, the Investiture of Chevalier Gary Brian Sullivan into the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem - Lieutenancy of Ireland will be performed by Most Reverend Michael Neary, D.D. KC*HS, Archbishop Emeritus of Tuam.

Following the investiture, a number of promotions will be awarded to the following members:

• Chevalier John Thomas Kennedy KSG to the rank of Grand Officer (Mayo).

• Chevalier Leonard Charles (Glenn) Kielty (Mayo/London) to the rank of Knight Commander.

• Chevalier Peter Oliver Moylan (Clare) to the rank of Knight Commander.

After the ceremonial Mass, luncheon will held in Ashford Castle.

Chevalier Gerard Concannon, KCSS, GCHS and his wife Dame Catherine Concannon, GCHS have organised this very prestigious event.
