Alzheimer society welcomes new service users to its Castlebar centre
THE Alzheimer Society of Ireland (ASI) welcomes new service users to its newly reopened Castlebar daycare centre.
The ASI daycare centre provides dementia-specific, person-centred care to meet the needs of the person with dementia in a warm, welcoming and safe environment while providing support and stimulation.
The ASI works with each person to ensure they feel comfortable and supported and meet their individual needs as far as possible.
They offer a wide range of activities, including card games, gardening, art, walks, and music. The daycare service includes a hot lunch. Dementia-trained nurses and carers provide the service.
ASI nurse manager for Castlebar, Mary Rowland, said: “Since reopening our daycare centre in May, we have welcomed many people living with dementia and their families to our centre. We can welcome many more.
“We offer a safe, nurturing environment to service users and invaluable service to people living in Castlebar. We want to welcome anyone living with dementia and their families to make enquiries and join us.”
The centre is on the ground floor Social Services Building, Castle Street, Castlebar, F23CY67. Contact nurse manager Mary Rowland at (086) 0287401 or email mary.rowland@alzheimer.ie for more information.
