No ice rink in Castlebar this year

THE ice rink will not be coming to Castlebar this Christmas.

The news was confirmed by Councillor Martin McLoughlin at the monthly Castlebar Municipal District meeting yesterday.

He said that he was talking to the event provider and the feedback was that he cannot get insurance.

The councillor invited anyone with an idea for another event at Christmas to bring it forward.

Mayo on Ice has been a huge attraction in the county town over the month of December and the festive period.
