Extension at east Mayo school approved

A MAJOR extension to St. Louis Community School in Kiltimagh has been granted by the Department of Education and Skills.

The 'significant' extension has been welcomed by Deputy Michael Ring, who commented: “This approval is very welcome news for St. Louis Community School. It will be a very significant extension to their school and will greatly enhance their capacity.”

The works approved are: SEN base, user assisted WC, art room, graphics room, two science labs, a science prep area, construction room, engineering room, technology room, and technology prep area, and a number of conversions - convert existing technology room into music room, convert DCG room into a general classroom, convert existing construction room into home economics room, convert science lab into three SET rooms, convert science lab into a general classroom, with a home economics room also being turned over for general classes.
