North Mayo club awarded FAI Club Mark

A PROGRESSIVE north Mayo soccer club have received a distinction from the Football Association of Ireland.

In recognition of best practice in the governance, management and administration of a football club, Conn Rangers FC have been awarded the entry level FAI Club Mark.

Achill Rovers, Westport United, Castlebar Celtic, Kilmurry Youth Soccer and Partry Athletic are among previous recipients.

The aims of the FAI Club Mark are to establish minimum operating criteria for football clubs, provide clubs with a road map to good governance, management and administration, support clubs on their journey, reward clubs for achieving and maintaining high standards, provide recognition to clubs for their commitment and achievements, and increase club’s capacity to operate effectively and grow football in communities throughout Ireland.

In a statement on their social media page, Conn Rangers paid thanks to club secretary Sinead Corcoran for all her efforts and thanks also to Nigel Naughton, Mayo development officer, and Barry McGann, club development programme coordinator, for their help in securing the Club Mark.
