Go-ahead for 91-bed care home in north Mayo

A NEW residential care home is to be developed in Ballina town.

It will be a 91-bedroom facility, based on Howley Street in the north Mayo town.

The project developers are Ciun Healthcare Ltd. and they have received planning permission from Mayo County Council for their proposal.

It involves the construction of a two-storey residential care home building providing for 91 single, ensuite bedrooms, communal area, kitchen, treatment rooms, with an internal secure landscaped garden.

The development will see the demolition of a two dwellinghouses on Howley Street to allow for the realignment of an existing internal access road and upgraded site entrance onto the street, with the construction of a new internal access road, car and bicycle parking.
