Mayo's First Choice Credit Union announce Brendan Hopkins bursary winners

FIRST Choice Credit Union has announced the five lucky recipients of the 2022 Brendan Hopkins Bursary Fund.

The bursary - in memory of former credit union director Brendan Hopkins - was created to assist students throughout the First Choice Credit Union common bond in their quest for third-level education. There are five bursaries awarded to the value of €1,000 each.

The winners of the 2022 bursary are: Teigan Hughes, Thomas Coen, Natasha McKeown, Caragh Burke and Barry Deegan.

Joe Butler, chairperson of the board of directors of First Choice Credit Union, said: “Congratulations to all five recipients of the 2022 First Choice Credit Union Brendan Hopkins bursaries. We’re delighted to offer this bursary to all eligible students throughout our common bond.

“We believe in the power of local, we want to give back to our communities, and we wish all five winners well in their studies and future endeavours.”

The bursaries are exclusive to First Choice Credit Union members to assist them with their chosen education path, and applications are invited from members who are commencing or attending third-level educational courses. The 2023 Brendan Hopkins bursary will be launched next summer so for Leaving Certificate and third-level students, be sure to keep the date in your diary.
