Irish Water working to restore water supply as quickly as possible in east Mayo town
Irish Water is working with Mayo County Council to restore normal water supply as quickly as possible to impacted customers following a burst water main in Kiltimagh.
Crews have completed repairs but customers in Kiltimagh and surrounding areas may be impacted by reduced water pressure and, in some instances, particularly on higher ground, intermittent water outages as the reservoir refills to a sufficient level to meet demand.
Operations lead for Irish Water, Ger Greally, explained: “Irish Water would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused when outages occur and thanks customers for their patience. We are working as quickly as possible to restore normal water supply for the people of Kiltimagh.”
Speaking on the essential need to conserve water especially at this time, Ger added: “We are appealing to customers to continue with every effort to conserve water by not running taps needlessly, taking showers instead of baths and to postpone using dishwashers and washing machines where possible. Further information on water conservation is available on our website at www.water/conservation.
The Irish Water customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also make contact on Twitter (@IWCare) with any queries. For updates, see the water supply and services section of the Irish Water website.
