North Mayo pyrite-affected homes to be demolished and rebuilt

THIRTEEN homes affected by pyrite are set to be demolished and rebuilt in a housing estate in Ballina.

They are located in the Rockwell estate, and planning applications for the works have recently been submitted to Mayo County Council.

Each of the properties is being demolished and reconstructed as part of the Pyrite Remediation Programme.

Applications in respect of two other homes in Rockwell were submitted earlier this year and decisions are due from planners on those this month.
