Passing of leading Mayo plant hire business proprietor

The death has taken place of Joe Reilly, Derryfadda, Bofeenaun.

The deceased was widely known throughout the county due to the success of his plant hire business and land reclamation work.

Joe was also involved in the provision of drainage works at many GAA and soccer pitch developments across the region.

An affable and good-natured personality, his passing is deeply regretted in the community at large.

He died peacefully at University College Hospital, Galway, surrounded by his loving wife and family .

Predeceased by his brother Tom and infant sister Rosaleen, he is deeply mourned by his wife Cecelia, daughters Mary Catherine and Cecelia, sons Colm, Joseph, Ciaran, Liam, Alan and Stephen, sisters Agnes (McKenna), Martina (DeBold), Margaret (Mahoney), Cathy (Logue), Josephine (Flanaghan), Patricia (Johnson) and Irene (O'Sullivan), son-in-law Francis (O'Malley), daughters-in-law Neasa, Carmel, Ann Marie, Silvia, Chiara and partner Maureen, his 17 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and large circle of friends.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.

Reposing at Leonard's Funeral Home, Lahardane, until 5 p.m. today.

Requiem Mass takes place tomorrow (Tuesday) at 12 noon in St Mary's Church, Bofeenaun, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
