Appeal for action on pedestrian crossing in busy Mayo village

AN elected member of Mayo County Council has renewed his call for a pedestrian crossing in the village of Ballyheane.

Councillor Al McDonnell said the facility is badly needed to facilitate children crossing from the school to the sports facilities on the opposite side of the road.

"I have been looking for this for a while and I hope there is action on it in the new year. It's a very busy roadway as it's essential the crossing is put in place at the earliest possible date," he stated.
