Request to move Mayo bottle bank being opposed

An assurance has been sought from Mayo County Council that the bottle bank in Ballyglass will not be removed from its present location.

Councillor Cyril Burke said people in the community were satisfied with its siting at the local soccer pitch.

"I understand a request has been made to have it moved.

"I am asking that it's not and that no decision will be made without it coming before a meeting of Castlebar Municipal District first," he said.
