Passing of much-loved Castlebar woman is deeply regretted
The death has taken place of Mary Geraghty (née Haugh), St. Patrick’s Avenue, and late of Moneen, Castlebar.
She died peacefully at her home yesterday surrounded by her loving family.
A member of an old and respected Castlebar family, news of her passing is deeply regretted in the community where she was held in such high esteem.
Many tributes have been paid to the deceased on social media where she was described as "a beautiful, elegant lady."
Predeceased by her beloved husband Walter and her brother Patsy, she is survived by her sons Padraic and Declan, daughters Maureen, Noreen (Lally), Eileen (Flannery) and Theresa (Antill), sisters Nora O’Brien, Kathleen McTighe and Nellie Quirke, brother Tommy Haugh, sons-in-law Pat and Gerald, daughter-in-law, Mary, 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.
Remains will be reposing at Kilcoyne's Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar, on Thursday from 5 p.m. with removal at 7 p.m. to her residence.
Removal from her residence on Friday at 10.45 a.m. for Funeral Mass at 11.30 a.m. in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.
Mary will be laid to rest afterwards in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
