Mayo trio depart Under 15 Inter-League squad
THE Mayo Under 15 girls have been dealt a blow as three of their top players are set to join the National Under 17 League.
Mayo management Michael Collins and Emma Gibbons reflected that it's a bittersweet moment seeing the three players leave midway through the inter-league campaign but always refreshing to have girls who have came through their clubs and league Emerging Talent Programmes go on to test themselves at the next level.
Both Amy and Roise were part of the extended Under 12 panel who won the Gaynor Cup in 2019 and all three girls were key players in Mayo winning Gaynor national titles in 2021 and 2022.
Head coach of Mayo Girls League Emerging Talent, John Flanagan, wished all three girls the best of luck, remarking that they are joining a conveyor belt of Mayo players who have gone on to play National League. All at Mayo Schoolboys\Girls League and their Mayo team-mates will, he said, be following their progress closely.
