Energy support of €12,045 for 15 Mayo organisations

A total of €12,045 in funding has been allocated to 15 Mayo community and voluntary groups under the second tranche of the Community and Voluntary Energy Support Scheme.

Deputy Michael Ring has welcomed the news.

He stated: “I warmly welcome this fact that fifteen Mayo groups will receive a one-off contribution towards their increased energy bills for 2022.

"My understanding is that payments will begin to issue to the groups immediately”.

"The department has confirmed that applications will continue to be accepted under this scheme until February 24 so I would strongly urge other groups to apply.

"The information is available on the Pobal website

“I hope this funding will help ease the burden being caused to community and voluntary groups from increased energy costs as they go about their work delivering essential services, supports and facilities to communities all over Ireland."
