Mayo 'ambassador' pops up on TV screens in India
by Auld Stock
IT is often said that you cannot keep a good man down.
Some time ago my son James, who has spent many years in Australia, was holidaying in India with his wife Gillian. They were having a quiet drink and looking at television.
Then, out of the blue, a familiar face popped up on the screen. It was none other than Ernie Sweeney, Boradruma, Castlebar.
Ernie spoke eloquently on a number of subjects and mentioned Mayo and Castlebar several times.
My son said Ernie did Castlebar and Mayo proud and was a wonderful ambassador.
As I said, it is hard to keep a good man down.
