Main pitch renamed Adam Mulchrone Memorial Pitch

IT was an emotional day at Westport United last Saturday afternoon following the Adam Mulchrone Memorial Match between Sligo Rovers and Galway United which raised funds for ‘Act For Meningitis’.

Before the game, the main pitch at United Park was renamed the Adam Mulchrone Memorial Pitch, named in honour of Adam, who sadly passed away on January 27, 2019, from bacterial meningitis.

Speaking during the ceremony, Mary Mulchrone, Adam’s mother, sincerely thanked Westport United and all in attendance for coming to the ceremony and for their donations to Act For Meningitis.

The game finished 2-2, Cillian Heaney and Fabrice Hartmann with the goals for Rovers. David Hurley and Colm Horgan netted for United.
