Appeal for suitable Mayo buildings to accommodate refugees

Minister for Integration Roderic O'Gorman is seeking buildings in Mayo to accommodate refugees.

The community buildings can include large halls where camp beds, mattresses and sleeping bags can be set out for people.

The appeal has been issued as the Department of Integration struggles to find accommodation for refugees arriving in Ireland.

The facilities which Minister O'Gorman is hoping to locate include sport centres with showers.
