Mayo hospital protest cancelled 'due to security concerns'

The reason for the cancellation of the planned protest at Mayo General Hospital today has been revealed.

Protest organiser, Harry Barrett, stated that the scheduled event was cancelled due to security concerns at the Castlebar facility.

He explained that another group intended to hijack the protest and "this would have caused unnecessary stress for staff and patients wanting to access the facility."

The event was organised by Mr. Barrett, a former elected member of Castlebar Town Council, to further highlighted the overcrowding crisis at the hospital and its negative impact on patient care.
