Leading Mayo business family celebrating 70th anniversary

Staunton's Pharmacy, Castlebar, is celebrating 70 years in business this month.

It was founded by Jack and Ita Staunton on March 7, 1952, at Main Street in the town.

Now a third-generation family business, it currently has six different business units - four pharmacies, a health food shop and a Daybreak convenience store - all located in Mayo's county town,

The pharmacies are located at Main Street, Hopkins Road, SuperValu and at the newly completed Bridge Lane, shortly to be renamed Collectors Lane.

The health food shop is at the corner of Cavendish Lane and Hopkins Road while the DayBreak Store is at Main Street, beside the pharmacy.

The popular and widely respected family is proud to employ a team of 65, with experienced, knowledgeable and highly trained staff members in all of its locations.

To celebrate 70 years of Staunton's Pharmacy Main Street Castlebar and the opening of Bridge Street Pharmacy, the family has extended an invitation to the public to join them us in-store on Friday, March 10, for a day of giveaways, exclusive offers and celebrations.
