Dublin star lauds 'unbelievable' Mayo side
Former Dublin GAA star Diarmuid Connolly has said he been hugely impressed with Mayo in their opeing four games of the National League.
Mayo sit top of Division 1 on six points and remain the only side unbeaten in the division. They can take another step closer to the final should they beat Roscommon in Hyde Park this Sunday.
After an impressive win over league and All-Ireland champions Kerry, Mayo hammered Tyrone last Saturday night in Castlebar and the multiple time All-Ireland winner heaped praise on the Green and Red, citing the pass Aidan O'Shea made for James Carr's goal as the "play of the match".
“It was a first home win in a while against Tyrone which is strange, but goals win games and the four from Mayo were decisive," Connolly told BoyleSports.
“Aidan O’Shea was unbelievable at 14, but he came out for a pass into James Carr for his goal and that was the play of the match for me. Enda Hession came on a couple of times against us in the past and his pace is so effective.
"He ran through on goal and dummied the keeper to stick one away in the second half and for an inside defender to do that exhumes confidence in this Mayo side.
“Tyrone weren’t at the races, but the width and the kick-passing in this Mayo team, and their hard running to get in behind the lines, is unbelievable.”
