Legendary singer Tony Christie to lead St. Patrick's Day Parade in Mayo

Legendary entertainer Tony Christie, best known for his recording of 'Is this the Way to Amarillo,' will lead the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Claremorris on March 17.

The 79-year-old star has been officially appointed Grand Marshal of the event.

There was plenty of green, white and gold visible in the McWilliam Park Hotel as the town's newly formed St Patrick’s Day Parade committee launched the 2023 parade.

Many of the sponsors were in attendance along with representatives of the community.

There is a great buzz in the community for this years parade and tremendous excitement to welcome their Tony Christie, who will lead off this years celebrations.

The parade starts at 3 p.m. and promises to be a day filled with plenty of entertainment for the family.
