Man charged in Castlebar death probe

A male has been charged in relation to the investigation into the death of an 83-year-old man at his home in Pheasant Hill, Castlebar, last Sunday.

The man's body was discovered by emergency services while dealing with a house fire at the location.

The deceased has been named as John Brogan, a local farmer. He had been shot.

A man in his 60s was arrested at the scene.

He is due to appear at Castlebar Court today.
