Mayo hospital hit by further overcrowding problems

Up to 24 patients are left without beds at Mayo University Hospital today.

Fourteen are on trolleys in the emergency department and 10 are in wards elsewhere.

Nationally 606 admitted patients are waiting for beds, according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch.

Of those, 472 patients are waiting in the emergency department while 134 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

There are15 children on trolleys today.
