Mayo parish mourns passing of popular personality

The death has occurred of Breege Moran (née Corcoran), Drimneen, Islandeady, Castlebar.

She died peacefully at Mayo University Hospital, Castlebar.

Breege will be sadly missed by her loving family: sons Paddy, Christopher and Sean, daughters Katie McArdle and Irene Cafferkey, sister Katie O’Malley (Derrew, Ballyheane), daughters-in-law Sinead, Jacqueline and Lorrraine, sons-in-law Conor and Jason, her cherished grandchildren Eabha, Fay, Jody, Sarah, Ria, Sean, Ruby, Christopher, Aoife and Orlaith, brothers-in-law Peter Moran and Pat Murnaghan, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours and many friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.

She was predeceased by her husband Chris, her parents Tony Corcoran and Norah Corcoran (née Butler), Bohaun, Killawalla, Westport and her brother Mike (UK).

Breege celebrated her 73rd birthday last month.

She loved life and particularly enjoyed music and dancing.

She liked to spend time in her garden and all her life she had a great love of animals especially dogs.

Breege worked for a number of years in Allergan Pharmaceuticals in Westport where she made many life long friends.

Her greatest joy were her ten grandchildren whom she cherished and adored.

She loved spending time with all her family and she really enjoyed all the special family events and get-togethers.

Breege will repose in St. Aidan’s Room adjoining St. Patrick’s Church, Islandeady, tomorrow (Tuesday) from 6.30 to 8 p.m., with removal to the adjoining church at 8 p.m.

Funeral Mass takes place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in St. Patrick’s Church, Islandeady.

Afterwards Breege will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Chris in Islandeady Cemetery.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.
