Mayo man Caelan Doris is one of 10 Irish players named in the Guinness Six Nations Team of the Championship.

Ireland’s Grand Slam-winning heroes dominate the selection, with Doris – who started his rugby journey as a Ballina RFC mini – named at number eight.

Doris and Ireland team-mates Hugo Keenan and Mack Hansen were also shortlisted for the Player of the Championship award but that accolade was secured by outstanding France scrum-half Antoine Dupont in the public vote.

Dupont is the second player in the award’s history to claim the title three times, putting him alongside Ireland’s Brian O’Driscoll, who won the award in 2006, 2007 and 2009.

Doris and Keenan are joined in the Team of the Championship selection by record points scorer and captain Jonathan Sexton as well as Andrew Porter, Dan Sheehan, Finlay Bealham, James Ryan, Peter O'Mahony, Josh van der Flier and James Lowe.

The remaining five place are taken by three French (Dupont, Thibaud Flament and Damian Penaud) and two Scottish (Sione Tuipolotu and Huw Jones) players.
