Party for President in full swing in north Mayo capital

BALLINA is buzzing this evening ahead of the historic address by President Joe Biden on the banks of the Moy.

The Coronas have just come off stage after performing to a bumper crowd as dusk starts to settle over the town. The Chieftains will be performing soon.

Earlier the senior Mayo men's and women's football teams got a rousing reception from the crowd when they were on stage outside St. Muredach's Cathedral.

Mr. Biden is due to address a crowd of around 20,000 at around 9 p.m. in front of St. Muredach's.

People have gathered in Ballina from early today to attend this evening's celebrations, with a real carnival atmosphere in the air.
