Castlebar Golf Club, in collaboration with Rob Hogan, Ireland's very own and the only two-time world champion, have announced the launch of the Irish Speedgolf Open.

There will be a women's, men's, seniors, and junior section in the tournament, and tee-times will be scheduled between 8 and 10 a.m. on both days. The championship is set to take place at Castlebar Golf Club on Saturday, August 12, and Sunday, August 13, and it promises to be an action-packed event filled with thrilling moments and excitement for both players and spectators.

Speedgolf is a unique and exciting sport that combines the fast-paced action of running with the precision of golf. Competitors race through the course, playing their shots and covering the distance as quickly as possible.

The objective is to complete the round in the lowest possible score and time combined. It is a thrilling challenge that requires both physical and mental prowess, and it's an incredible spectacle to watch.

The Irish Speedgolf Open promises to be a fantastic event, showcasing the very best of this exciting sport. Players from all over Ireland and the world will compete for the championship titles, with prizes and accolades for the winners.

The course at Castlebar Golf Club is renowned for its stunning scenery and challenging layout, providing the perfect backdrop for this prestigious tournament. Among the names who have played here include Rory McElroy winning the Irish Youths championship in Castlebar as well as President Joe Biden and his brother Jim who played with former Taoiseach Enda Kenny.
