Brendan flies flag proudly for Mayo at Mr. Personality Festival

SWINFORD man Brendan Doyle did the county proud when he represented Mayo Macra at the 2023 Mr. Personality Festival.

The annual festival took place in the Talbot Hotel in Clonmel, hosted by Kilkenny Macra na Feirme and sponsored by Kilkenny/Carlow and District Farm Relief Services.

Some 23 contestants travelled from across the country for a fun-filled weekend.

First up, contestants were interviewed on stage, entertaining the audience with stories of their guilty pleasures and embarrassing moments (with an optional party piece if they were brave enough) followed by music from The Waxies and a DJ.

The following morning Brendan completed his private interview with the judges and afterwards he proudly displayed his county colours while completing a bootcamp run by Kilkenny Macra members, including wheelbarrow races, an obstacle course, and team building exercises to show the judges what he was made of.

At the banquet dinner dance, Andrew Dunne, Mountmellick Macra (Laois), was named as the 16th Mr. Personality - the fourth Laois man to win the title in 16 years.
