Westport House to host charity open day in aid of Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation

Pirate Adventure Park at Westport House will host a charity open day in aid of Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation on Sunday, May 28, from 12 to 6 p.m. The suggested charity donation is €5 per person.

Inspired by the Pirate Queen of Connacht, Grace O’Malley, the Pirate Adventure Park at Westport Estate offers a range of indoor and outdoor amenities for all the family to enjoy.

The park consists of splash-tastic Pirates Plunge, Pirate Queen Swinging Ship, 30-foot Cannon Ball run slide, swan pedal boats, the Westport House Express train, go karts, climbing walls, nine-hole frisbee golf and foot golf, mini ferris wheel, kiddie zipwire, the Pirates Den indoor soft play area, bouncy castles, playgrounds and much more.

You can finish off your pirate adventure at Gracy’s Pizzeria Bar and Bistro.

Commenting on the open day, Martina Jennings, CEO of Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation, said: “We fund palliative care services in our communities and our hospices in Mayo and Roscommon through fundraised income. These services are in demand in both counties and are vital to many families.

“On behalf of the Hospice Foundation, I’d like to thank Westport House for choosing us as their charity and waiving their admission fees on Sunday, May 28. There’s something for all age groups at Westport House so I’d encourage families to come along and have a day of fun and make whatever small donation they can.

“We’re also running a competition on site that day for our car draw to win a brand new Hyundai Kona Electric. The draw will take place at the end of June.”

Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation and Mulroy’s Londis, Castlebar, both turn 30 this year and they have a car, worth in the region of €45,000, to raffle this June. The new Hyundai Kona Electric features an updated design, the very latest smart tech, and drives up to 484 kilometres on a single charge.

Everyone from all over the country is invited to enter the draw. One ticket is €20, three tickets are €50 and six tickets are €100. They can be purchased now from https://winacar.hospice.ie, in any of the 12 Mayo Roscommon Hospice shops, and also in Mulroy’s Londis, Castlebar. The competition closes on June 29 and the winner will be chosen on June 30 in a live draw at the Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation office in Knock. Entries must be over 18.
