Better parking needed at school in central Mayo

IMPROVED parking and a pedestrian crossing for Balla National School have been requested by Councillor Cyril Burke.

Parking at the school is inadequate for everyone to pull up on the same side of the road, he explained.

“We need to have a more organised system to make it safer for children,” he told a Castlebar Municipal District meeting.

The council has requested an update on both the parking situation and a crossing at the location.
