Funding for seven Mayo groups under energy support scheme

SEVEN Mayo groups have been successful for funding under the latest round of the Community and Voluntary Energy Support Scheme (CVESS), Deputy Michael Ring has confirmed.

Further tranches of funding will be announced and paid under the scheme in the coming weeks/months.

Explained Deputy Ring: “Seven groups in Mayo will receive a one-off contribution towards their increased energy bills for 2022 in this latest tranche of funding. Payment will issue to these organisations immediately.

“The funding announced today brings the total number of organisations supported nationally under the initiative to 846, with over €1.35 million now paid out to these groups.”

The following are the allocations:

The Parish Centre €1,508

Carnacon Community Development Association €976

Aghamore Community Development €667

Shrule Community Centre CLG €402

Leave No Trace Ireland €256

Order of Malta Castlebar €200

Mayo Academy for Performing Arts CLG €200

Commented Deputy Ring: “It is imperative that our community and voluntary organisations are supported during this current difficult climate with the unprecedented energy costs being faced by everyone.

“These group provide a vital service in our community. I hope this funding will be of some assistance to them.”
