All welcome to official opening of Kiltimagh velorail project
DEPUTY Michael Ring has today confirmed that he will officially open the velorail project in Kiltimagh on Friday, June 9, at 11 a.m.
The official opening is taking place at Kiltimagh Railway Station on Station Road in the town.
Said Deputy Ring: “This opening is a big day for the community in Kiltimagh. The velorail project is a very novel and new idea and I think it will be a great tourism success and a great local success.”
The project involves the running of pedal powered carriages on the closed railway line. It is the innovative brainchild of IRD Kiltimagh CLG and Kiltimagh Tourism Association and part of a long standing ambition to make use of the local resource which is the closed railway line.
“I am calling on all the community to come on the day. All are very welcome. Everybody is invited to the opening on Friday,” said Deputy Ring.
