Date announced for opening of new Mayo €7m. Aldi store

The new Aldi store in Ballyhaunis will open to the public on Thursday, June 22, at 8.30 a.m.

The store, located at Upper Main Street in the town, will be the chain's sixth supermarket in Mayo and represents an investment of €7 million.

Aldi has made a capital investment of almost €43.3 million in Mayo since opening its first Irish store in Claremorris in 2007 and spent €3.2 million on wages in Mayo.

A total of 30 new full-time jobs have been created in the town as a result of the investment while 50 people were employed during the construction stage.

The new environmentally-friendly store is powered by 100% green electricity and features solar panels on the roof, furthering Aldi’s strong sustainability credentials.

The store is constructed in Aldi’s award-winning Project Fresh design.

There is ample parking available for customers, whether cycling or driving to the new store, in the form of 101 car parking spaces and 10 bike parking spaces.

Aldi has also invested in the future of Ballyhaunis through the provision of four electric vehicle charging points outside the store.

Aldi will be offering product sampling at the new store opening and will have a range of Aldi 'Specialbuys' on sale at amazing prices.
