Marian Row embankment in county town is 'dangerous'

THE river embankment at Marian Row in Castlebar is in danger of collapsing.

Through his involvement with the community clean-up, Councillor Blackie Gavin said he saw that erosion has taken place and the embankment is 'highly dangerous'.

Urgent action is needed before the road collapses, he told council management at a municipal district meeting.

It is a health and safety issue, Councillor Donna Sheridan agreed.
