More than 350 objections lodged to east Mayo biogas plant

THERE have been more than 350 objections lodged against a planned biogas facility in east Mayo.

The online submission deadline in respect of the biogas plant proposed in Swinford was Sunday last.

In an update issued this morning, Swinford Biogas Concern Group said there are 252 objections on Mayo County Council's planning portal, with 100 more objections that the group know of still to go up on the online platform - 'so at least 352 objections in'.

In a post on their Facebook page, the group explained that it could be Thursday before all the objections are uploaded.

They expressed thanks to everyone who made a submission, stating: “It was great to see the concern expressed for the future of Swinford.”
