Connacht Rugby join forces with Ahascragh Distillery

Connacht Rugby have announced a new partnership with Ahascragh Distillery as official premium drinks partners.

This new long-term agreement brings two west of Ireland brands together, both of whom have an exciting future ahead.

Located outside Ballinasloe in the heart of Co. Galway, Ahascragh Distillery is Ireland’s first zero-emissions whiskey and gin distillery. Built within a restored 19th century mill, Ahascragh Distillery and tourist experience opened its doors last month following a €10 million investment, marking a major step forward for the industry in Ireland.

Visitors can now tour this state-of-the-art distillery, experiencing whiskey and gin production from grain to glass. The distillery is an authentic destination for Irish spirits enthusiasts and anyone interested in history, tradition and craftsmanship. All tours are fully guided and finish with a tasting of Ahascragh Distillers’ award-winning Clan Colla Irish Whiskey, UAIS Irish Whiskey and Xin Gin.

Gareth and Michelle McAllister, founders and managing directors of Ahascragh Distillery, commented: “Ahascragh Distillery celebrates tradition, innovation and quality in the west of Ireland. We wanted to collaborate with fellow Connacht-based brands that share our ambitious vision and love for our home.

“We have found the perfect fit with Connacht Rugby. Our mission is to help family and friends celebrate meaningful moments and occasions and we look forward to doing just that in Galway Sportsground throughout this season and into the future.”

Philip Patterson, head of commercial and marketing at Connacht Rugby, added: “Ahascragh Distillery personify all that is good about the west of Ireland right now. Their state-of-the-art distillery outside Ballinasloe is innovative and conscious of the environment, and I know they have some hugely exciting plans in the pipeline.

“We believe working together with Ahascragh Distillery will help both brands achieve success in the years ahead and we look forward to collaborating with them into the future.”
