New Mayo €2.5m. fire station is up and running

Members of the Crossmolina Fire Brigade have moved into their brand new €2.5 million fire station.

This is the first fire station built in Mayo since 2004 and a campaign for the provision of the facility started in 2019.

Councillor Michael Loftus, cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council, said it was an historic occasion for Crossmolina.

He stated: "I acknowledge and thank retired Mayo County Council architect Kevin Keegan who did the design, John Condon, director of services with the council, and I especially thank all the past and present firemen who served in Crossmolina and who look after our community."

The official opening will take place at a later date.
