Mayo guesthouse wins top hospitality award

A Mayo guesthouse has been named among the winners of the prestigious Georgina Campbell Irish Food & Hospitality Awards 2023.

The Host of the Year Award has been won by John and Elizabeth Barrett of Bervie Guest Accommodation on Achill Island.

Bervie, which operates out of a restored coastguard station, boasts a tradition of warmth and hospitality built over generations, set in an idyllic location.

Achill Tourism, congratulating them on their success, said on social media: “This incredible achievement is a testament to the dedication, passion and excellence that The Bervie's team brings to the table. Your commitment to providing unforgettable experiences has not only earned you this honour but also the hearts of your guests near and far.”

Also locally, the Ocean Sands Hotel in Enniscrone scooped the Family Friendly Hotel of the Year award.
